January, 2012 Message from the Chair
In January, we will be back at the
Deep River Event Center for a “Café” session to
get feedback from the section on what we would
like to do in the coming year. This session
will be led by Charles Volk and will be part of
the tools that he has been working with over
the past few months. This session is
critical to the section. Planning for next
year needs to be done based on what the section
members want and on what works. And, it’s time
to get that process
moving.
We also need to start planning in
January for the election of officers for next
year and that process also needs to start this
month. We have a lot of great talent in the
organization which we need to utilize. There
are numerous positions to fill. Come to the
January meeting ready to express your desires
and interests and how you can help the section.
We had two new members at the Member Leader
meeting in December, and a returning new
member. This is a great
start!
Charles Volk will continue with
the tutorial prior to the section meeting,
beginning at 5:30
pm.
In February, Mark Crosley, a
frequent presenter will be back. And, in March,
Dirk Barth will give a presentation on Six
Sigma in the financial industry. Dirk is
manager of Business Performance Excellence at
Fidelity Investments. This will be an
interesting
presentation.
Remember, the registration
deadline for the March 3rd, 2012
recertification exams is January 13, 2012. The
Late Application Fee($50) deadline is January
18, 2012. These applications are made to ASQ
Headquarters at http://asq.org , not at the section. If you need
to take an exam, sign up
now.
Start now to build quality into
2012!
George
