Introduction to Probability Theory and Applications (IPTW) - Introduction to the concepts of probability theory, common probability distributions and their applications. Topics covered include probability terminology, statistical thinking, basic probability theory, measures of central tendency and dispersion, permutations and combinations, probability distribution functions, common discrete and continuous distributions. Hands-on activities. Knowledge of algebra required, some calculus knowledge desirable. Knowledge of probability and statistics is needed for analytical work on six-sigma and quality engineering projects.
