Planning for next year’s programs using the membership Café Meeting  

Cafe's are modeled after the cafe' setting - a few people around a table engaged in lively discussion about compelling issues of the time.  The goal is to use this candid, interactive approach to stimulate creative thinking and bold new ideas.  This years cafe' will have several issues/questions to discuss, including Programs and Workshops for next year.  In the Cafe', each table will have a question to answer, discuss, and then choose the "best" answer before the  session is ended - about 20 minutes.  We will have a break and rearrange the people at the tables - one "leader" at each table will stay behind to lead the next round of discussion.  In the second round, the best idea of the first round is developed with regards to how that idea might be implemented. 

Participating in this cafe' will help bring new and exciting ideas to the Section as well as provide first hand experience in adding and using the cafe' method to your team toolset.

Charles Volk has been active in the ASQ Section 1109 for many years as Section Chair and/or Education Chair. He has been awarded ASQ certifications in Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), a Certified Quality Auditor Engineer (CQA), and Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE.) He is also an ASQ Fellow. He has also taught Six sigma courses in the Babcock School at Wake Forest University, and regularly teaches certification review courses through the NCAT/ASQ1109 partnership..
