- Apr 10, 2012 Plant Tour, Amcor Tobacco Packaging in Reidsville, N.C. Amcor is a worldwide leader in tobacco packaging. Amcor has strong relationships with major customers via a comprehensive global network. This enables the global coordination of customer requirements, ensuring the delivery of a single quality system across all operations. Tobacco packaging is produced in 20 manufacturing plants located in 16 countries with more than 3,200 employees worldwide. In May 2006; Amcor opened its new US$42.6 million state-of-the art packaging facility in Reidsville, following its investment decision in July 2005. The plant employs ~100 people, occupies 220,000 sq. ft., and produces printed packaging, including folding cartons and labels, with reliable, cost-efficient, high quality packaging materials for its key customers in Amcor’s global tobacco business. The Reidsville plant was a greenfield site development to support local tobacco manufacturers.
